Lake Galena provides for some of the best fishing in the area, with an abundance of smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleyed pike, bluegills, channel catfish, perch, and muskies. And it's a quiet, beautiful lake, frequented by many types of birds such as eagles, owls, ospreys, blue herons, and wild turkeys, and a variety of animals including white tail deer, red fox, coyotes, and beavers.

When Lake Galena was completed in 1975, it was carefully planned to remain scenic . The majority of the seven-mile shoreline was designated "greenspace"--land owned by the Galena Territory Association that cannot be purchased or developed. The only docks allowed on the lake are at the marina and at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. The lake is primarily spring-fed, with two main creeks also feeding into it. It has a spillway at one end, creating a beautiful 40 foot waterfall that is 600 feet long and 200 feet wide. The adjacent dam is 280 feet across and 10 feet wide at the top.

Lake Galena has an average depth of 12 feet with the deepest spot of 50 feet located in front of the dam. To protect the shoreline from erosion and keep the lake quiet, peaceful, and attractive to wildlife, the lake is restricted to 10 horsepower motors and 17-foot boats. There is no swimming or waterskiing.

The Shenandoah Riding Center is the only GTA amenity currently leased to private operators. The Riding Center offers Trail Rides The Riding Center offers trail rides daily throughout the year. Discounts are offered to property owners and their guests only if they provide an amenity tag or photo ID card.

The East Course. A 9-hole par 34 and an excellent test of accuracy, shot-making and putting touch.
